REMINDERS!!!

Yearbooks- $45

SGA FOOD DRIVE-  CANNED goods and BOXED items only please!!

 

Monday- Students will be bringing home a study guide to help them with their test over Mitosis and Genetics on Friday.  We will go over this in class today.

Tuesday- Students will review Punnett squares uses markers and Punnett Square Dry erase sheets. They will also have a Spongebob Genetics WS.

Wednesday- Students will review Mitosis and DNA using the active board, and then complete a Mitosis Review Sheet.  If the weather permits, we will go outside and construct a GIANT DNA strand!!!

Thursday- We will review for the Unit Test by playing Genetics Bingo!!

Friday- Unit test MITOSIS AND GENETICS.  Please bring an AR book with you!!

Week of September 7- 11, 2009

Monday-LABOR DAY No School

Tuesday- Complete Cell Diagrams in class.  TODAY- STUDENTS ARE ASSIGNED THEIR CELL MODEL PROJECTS.  Cell models will be due 3 WEEKS from today.  ( October 1, 2009)  Packets on the models are sent home today!!!

Wednesday- Today we will start our “CELL City” brochures.  Students will make a travel brochure to “Cell City” describing all the parts as if they have a function in a real city.

Thursday- Today we will finish our “CELL City” brochures.

Friday-  Today students will have a quiz on Cell parts, and then view an educational video on cells and their parts.

August 24-28 2009

Monday:  Continuing the Scientific Method: Hypothesis: Today we will look at ways to write a GOOD and TESTABLE hypothesis. 

Assignment: “More Than just a Guess”   if students don’t finish in class they need to finish it tonight as homework.

Tuesday: Experiments: We will be looking at HOW to design a working experiment that is reliable, and takes into account variables and control groups.

Assignment: “In Pursuit of Answers”  If students do not finish this assignement in class, it is HOMEWORK. :)

Wednesday: Analyzing Data: Students will be taking Data from given experiments, and learning how to organize them into readable charts and graphs.

Assignment: DATA WS, Anything not finished in class must be taken home.

Thursday: Scientific Method Review We will be reviewing the the Scientific Method followed by a Scientific Method Crossword puzzle.

Friday: Student will have a short test on the Scientific Method, and then watch a Discovery video on the Scientific Method.

Week of November 10-14 2008

Monday-Study guides on Cell Transport/Mitosis will be sent home today!!! Test will be on Friday.

We will also Review with the Word Wall.

Tuesday- FIELD TRIP to the CSO and Hunter Museum. Student who are not attending will maintain their normal schedule.

Wednesday-Today we will make foldables after reviewing Mitosis for our test on Friday.

Thursday- Today we will review Cell Transport/Cellular Respiration/Photosynthesis. Student will also make detailed diagrams of each process.

Friday- TEST TODAY!!!! Don’t forget your study guides with a parent signature!!!!

 

Week of November 3-7, 2008

Monday- Today we will review cell transport and play a review game using the Word Wall. Students are expected to finish their Cellular Respiration and Photosynthesis charts as well as their crossword puzzles on cell transport.

Tuesday-NO SCHOOL!! Staff Development  ELECTION DAY

Wednesday- Today we will start on MITOSIS. Students will learn about the parts of cell that are the most crucial to mitosis.  They will then start on making a chart of mitosis.

Thursday- We will continue on today learning about mitosis and its PHASES. Students will make a flip book of mitosis and its phases.

Friday- Students will have a starter quiz today and then will watch a United Streaming Video on Mitosis as well as finish their mitosis charts and flip books.

DON”T FORGET! FIELD TRIP NEXT TUESDAY!!

Week of October 27-October 31, 2008

Monday: Student will begin Chapter 4 of Cell Transport.  They must complete the terms worksheet and turn it in by Tuesday.

Tuesday: Students will watch Brain Pops on Cell Transport as well as review terms from Chapter 4.  We will then make foldables using thoseterms.

Wednesday: Today we will start cellular respiration and photosynthesis.  Students will make diagrams on both processes.

Thursday: We will review today with the Word Wall, and then do a crossword puzzle for review.

Friday: Character Day!!!  Behavior Reward Day.

Week of October 20 – 24

MONDAY: Study Guides were sent home on Monday.

Any student who gets a parent/guardian signature and returns the study guide on Friday will recieve and automatic 5 points on the test.

TUESDAY: Today students will complete a chart on cell parts and their funtions. Charts need to be turned in by Wednesday at the beginning of the class at the latest.

WEDNESDAY: Student will play a review game using The Word Wall of Science and Wikki Stix. They will then complete a cell crossword puzzle.

THURSDAY: CELL BINGO!! 

FRIDAY:  Test TODAY!!  DON’T FORGET to bring an AR book!!
